Dr. Ankita Shahasane is a highly trained Obstetrician, Gynaecologist, Infertility Specialist and Minimal Access Surgeon with over 11 years of experience in women’s health. Known for her decisive clinical judgement, surgical precision and ability to manage high-acuity cases under pressure, she has built her practice around delivering safe, evidence-based care in both advanced tertiary hospitals and resource-limited settings.

She holds an MBBS, MS/MD in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, DNB in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, FMAS in Minimal Access Surgery, and DRM in Reproductive Medicine. She also holds DHA eligibility/licensure as a Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in Dubai, reflecting training and professional standards aligned with both Indian and international healthcare systems.
 

Her surgical and obstetric experience includes:

• Management of high-risk pregnancies complicated by hypertension, haemorrhage, previous caesarean sections, fetal concerns, medical disorders and obstetric emergencies
• Advanced management of fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, ectopic pregnancies, abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvic adhesions and infertility-related conditions.

Dr. Ankita’s strength lies not merely in performing surgery, but in recognising when a case is likely to become difficult, planning ahead, anticipating complications and leading her team through high-pressure situations with clarity and control. Her approach is thorough, direct and uncompromising when patient safety is concerned.

Despite having experience in tertiary-care institutions, she consciously chose to offer her services in Pen, Raigad, her birthplace and community, to make high-quality laparoscopic gynaecological and obstetric care more accessible locally. In peripheral and lower-resource settings, she has independently managed high-risk obstetric and gynaecological cases laparoscopically that often require rapid decision-making, strong surgical judgement and the ability to work efficiently with limited backup.
 

Her work in Pen is rooted in a simple belief: women should not have to travel to metropolitan cities to receive competent, timely and life-saving care. She has consistently worked to bring specialist-level evaluation, emergency preparedness, surgical discipline and evidence-based treatment closer to her own community.
 

A fiercely committed surgeon and educator, Dr. Ankita is also actively involved in mentoring postgraduate trainees and young surgeons in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Her practice combines surgical skill, academic depth, reproductive expertise and a deeply protective approach towards every woman under her care.
